Bayern Munich midfielder Anatoliy Tymoshchuk has expressed his delight with his return to the starting XI in this weekend's Bundesliga match against Bayer Leverkusen.
Caretaker coach Andries Jonker has already informed the Ukraine international that he will get the nod in midfield on Sunday.
"The coach told me I’d be playing in my favourite position. I’m very happy about returning to the starting XI," Tymoshchuk was quoted as saying on the official Bayern website.
"I’m playing in midfield despite a number of the lads being missing at the back. I’m glad about that. Every team needs players who can defend. That makes life easier for the more creative players."
Tymoshchuk then went on to underline the importance of the match against Leverkusen.
"We’ve got to press ahead and make sure we qualify for the Champions League."
Bayern currently sit fourth in the Bundesliga table, trailing third-placed Hannover by one point.
